  2. Hi Nadie

I found your blog today and have been delighted to catch up on your wonderful journey! Me and my partner recently found out we were finally expecting and we are super excited! I wanted to ask you if you had a suggestion on the doctor and hospital you used. We are looking for a doctor who is more LGBT friendly than the ones we have seen so far.

    Thank you!

    1. Congratulations! Such an exciting time!
      Are you from Phoenix?
We used ARMS and can highly recommend Dr. Johnson! We had an awesome experience with everyone there.

    2. Thank you!! yes very excited! Did they continue treating you even after you got pregnant? We used another fertility clinic but now its time for an OBGYN and we cannot find one we really like yet

    3. We were there until I was eight weeks pregnant and then switched to an Obgyn. We always talked about how we wished we could've stayed with Dr. Johnson for the entire pregnancy! :)

  3. I saw online that you had some questions on the Immune Balancing Protocol and my Dr. wants me to do it, I am scared and wish I knew what it was before I pay thousands of dollars for it. Did you see Dr. C in Scottsdale? Is he the person who wanted you to do it?

    1. Yes, he was my doctor and I did the protocol. For me, it was a waste of time and money and didn't work. He also sent me to get bee stings. Seriously! You can read about it on my blog as well. Two doctors I saw after him told me that 80% of his patients leave his office with the same diagnosis. I would stay away and find a new doctor!

  4. Hi Nadine-

Your blog makes me crack up! I googled the IBP with Dr C in Scottsdale, because that is what he wants us to do. Wow, he didn't inform us about much of anything other than the $2750 price tag plus $300 in pills. That sounds incredibly painful and insane. What is the shot? He won't tell me much of anything about it unless we pay. I am very skeptic because I never knew the cost would be nearly $3k nor shots and 30 pills. Where did you find success after him? Just going straight to IVF? Thanks for your insight, it was very enjoyable to ready your journey. Thanks!

    1. Hi!
In my humble opinion...run as fast as you can and get another doctor! I highly recommend Dr. Johnson from ARMS! We did go straight to IVF, I had also talked with Dr. C about IVF and he didn't give me much hope. Dr. J implanted one embryo and it worked on the first try! We loved him, even before I got pregnant.
The shot is heparin, a blood thinner. The worst part for me was the change of diet and the working out every day between 4-8. I hated my life and became very bitter.
In my opinion it's a waste of time and money!

  5. Thanks for the reply! We have been going through this whirlwind for almost 2 years now. I have PCOS, so its a bit different from your case I think. I didn't see if you had that or not. Dr C is a salesman for sure... but what RE isnt? We have seen Dr Craig and really liked him but it didn't seem to be doing anything, so I saw about Dr C and thought wow he seems innovative and new, lets try him. But now I got a major red flag when this protocol was sprung on us. Which ARMS office did you go to? I see Dr Moffit, but not Dr Johnson. Maybe he retired? The whole shots, pills thing freaks me out a bit. I think I am going to pass and just work out on my own (maintain my weight) and schedule a first appt at ARMS. Did you have any issues with your lining or getting stimulated (growing follicles?)? Those are my issues, I grow them but they don't mature... and my lining is very thin, even with estrogen.

    1. We went to ARMS on Thomas, I believe Dr. J works in both offices. I don't think he's retired. I didn't have any issues, they never found anything wrong with me, but I just didn't get pregnant. I wish we would've done IVF earlier, we spent more on IUI's and messing around with Dr. C's protocol than we did on IVF.
Good luck to you! I know it's tough, but so worth it in the end! :)

    2. Had my first appt with Dr Moffit last friday at ARMS and he was great! Thanks for the referral. He basically rolled his eyes about the protocol. He is putting me on some anti inflammatory meds, and femara...if that doesnt work we will be doing IVF. I don't want to waste anymore time either. In the end it seems like IVF has such a higher success rate anyways... so why not just go straight to that? That is my opinion anyways.

July iPhone dump

The rest of our July in pictures! Movie date with the boys! I took Finn and his best friend to the Aquarium one day, while Fox was at the allergist with Katie. They both had a blast. Trying to touch the sting rays... Sweet brotherly moment at a play place. One of my patients made this for me, and it made my day. It's now hanging from the mirror in my car, as a reminder how fragile life is. This kid kills me with his watermelons. He always wants to buy them, so he can help me cut them, but then won't eat them. When I pointed this out to him, he simply replied that I could take the watermelon to my co-workers again because they love it when I do.  Fox told me he is allergic to Goodwill and puts on this big act whenever I make them go. His throat starts to be itchy and he can't breathe. We might have to get him tested again...hahaha. We visited a lot of play places this summer to stay out of the heat. This was at a library and the kids played with this lite-brite forever. Finn...

We took some family pictures this fall!

August iPhone dump

Some moments from my August... Coffee treats during busy shifts! Fox had a pool playdate with some friends. First day of middle school! Unfortunately I had to work and couldn't send him off that day, but my favorite co-parent came through with some pictures from the bus stop. Found a bunch of these selfies on my phone haha. On the way to school one morning, middle school is rough apparently. A quick brunch with friends to celebrate the end of summer break! My sweet friend Nikki gave me this bucket full of beautiful dresses that she had outgrown. A lot of them still had tags on them! Dinner date with the boys, they preferred playing a game together instead of talking to me...haha! Homework struggles have begun again! Sweet treats after school while we wait for Finn to get off the bus. Unfortunately their buses arrive an hour apart from each other, so we have a lot of waiting around because the bus stop is too far from my house.  He was helping me make schnitzel! We watched Bad guys ...
